Professor Tjut Sugandawaty Djohan (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia)
Tjut S. Djohan, is a lecturer and researcher at Laboratory of Ecology and Conservation, Faculty of Biology, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She has been involved in mangrove ecology research on Segara Anakan Cilacap, Central Java since the 1980, as a young researcher of the United Nations University-LIPI-UGM. In 1985. She continued her study on nutrient dynamics and using wetlands as nutrient removal at sub-alpine wetland setting of California at University of Califonia Davis, and has gone on to Landscape Ecology with special Limnological interest in the important Mangrove Ecology of Segara Anakan, Central Java.
Her research interest is from mangrove ecosystem dynamics, post fire forest regrowth in volcanic-catchment area at Mount Merapi Yogyakarta, she also studied vegetation of Bian Kumbe watershed and Rawa Biru at Wasur National Park a temporal wetland in Merauke. Her interest is also in landscape-seascape –lifescape ecology and conservation biology.
