Teguh Rahardjo trained as engineer from engineering faculty of Indonesia University, and then obtained his Master and Doctor degree from engineering faculty in University of Yamanashi, Japan.
He began his service as a civil servant at the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology in 1986 and since then had been appointed into many posts. He deal with R&D management for about 15 years and S&T policy for about 10 years while he served as Deputy Minister for S&T Relevancy and Productivity at the Ministry of Research and Technology (MoRT), Republic of Indonesia from 2008 to 2013, and as a Senior Advisor to the Minister of Research and Technology for Defence and Security Technology affair from 2013 to 2015. During this period, he has also involved in many International S&T events and cooperation such as ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (COST), Indonesia-US S&T cooperation, ROI-ROK S&T cooperation, Indonesia-Germany S&T cooperation, etc. He was also a member of National Research Council in 2009-2011, head of technology working group of Committee for Defense Industrial Policy (KKIP) headed by Minister of Defence ROI, in 2010-2013, and head of technical committee of Space and Aviation Board (DEPANRI) in 2010-2013.
He retired from government in mid 2016 and joint Indonesia Science Fund (DIPI) since Nov 2016. Currently he serve as Executive Director who responsible for bringing DIPI as excellence financial research institution which is non-government and independent institute under the auspice of Indonesia Academy of Science.
