Learning Pluralism and Teaching Tolerance
Participants of this field trip will be involved in a discussion with the organizers and students of Pondok Pesantren Krapyak (Krapyak Islamic Boarding School) about education on tolerance and pluralism. Huntap Kuwang, Merapi
The visit to Huntap will allow participants to observe the socio-economic activities of Merapi people after their relocation to the area. Participants of this field trip will get to compare the old residential site of the Merapi people and their new home after the Merapi eruption. On this field trip the people of Merapi will also engage in discussion and dialog with the participants regarding their survival method and how they managed their economy and environment after the earth quake.

GAMA HERBAL PLANTATION
Participants of this field trip will have the opportunity to observe UGM’s herbal plantation in Girirejo, Bantul. Apart from observing the herbal plantation, which is used as a source of alternative medication, participants will hold a discussion with female herbal farmers of which UGM is the patron. Participants will also engage in making wedang uwuh (traditional Javanese drink) which is very rich in antioxidant, and is also known to improve stamina.
