Dr. Ir. Semuel Leunufna, PhD, Lecturer and Researcher at the Agronomy Faculty of Pattimura University for over 27 years. Director of the Center for the Conservation of Maluku’s Biodiversity, Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Pattimura. MSc. in plant breeding at the University of Guelph, Canada. PhD cum laude at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Saale, Germany in Plant Breeding / Plant Genetic Conservation. Worked as teacher / researcher at the Genetic Laboratory of IPB in Bogor. Conducted a research program at the German Institute for Plant Genetics and Crop Research in Gatersleben, on tissue culture and cryopreservation of yams and garlic for conservation purposes. Dr. Semuel has published many articles in journals, conference proceedings and magazines and is frequent speaker on congresses on the conservation of biodiversity, related to food security.
