Noorhaidi Hasan is professor of Islam and politics and currently Dean of the Graduate School at State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga of Yogyakarta, who has a research interest in Islamic radicalism, identity politics and youth. He completed his PhD at Utrecht University (2005) and has published on Laskar Jihad, Salafism in Southeast Asia, Islamist party, and Youth Activism. He is currently working on future trajectories of Indonesian Muslim youth by specifically looking into the ways in which they explore multiple modes of expressions in an effort to situate themselves between Islamism and cosmopolitanism.
