Mohammad NUH received Engineer degree from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, in 1983. His DEA and Doctoral degree were received from Signaux et System, Universite Science et Technique du Languedoc (USTL), Montpellier, France in 1987 and 1990 respectively. His research interests were in the fields of biomedical engineering, digital control systems and intelligent process control using embedded systems before heavily involved in University and ICT strategic planning. He is a lecturer at Electrical Engineering Department of Faculty of Industrial Technology of ITS since 1984 and received his profesorship on digital control system in 2006. During his stay at the Institute, he was Director of Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (EEPIS) (1997-2003) and Rector of ITS (2003-2007). Since 2007 he is the Minister of Communication and Information Technology of Republic of Indonesia. He is a member of IEEE Control System Society since 1993 and become Technical Committee member in several conferences and symposiums. His contributions include hyperthermia apparatus for cancer therapy, crude palm oil crystallization process control using embedded-based intelligent systems and computer-aided design, simulation and implementation of fuzzy-logic-based industrial control. In higher education, he promoted and led polytechnic education system accross the country through his innovative leadership. He is also a pioneer in the development of community college education system in East Java Province
