I am Marine Biodiversity groupleader. Our institute has a long history of research in Indonesia on both Recent and fossil reefs. We focus on shallow marine ecosystems and the relation between biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and environmental change. We do this by looking at both Recent and Holocene reef records. By understanding past and present patterns of reef evolution, we will identify areas with the highest chance of reef persistence during projected future environmental change.
