Dr. Bas Heijman, TU Delft, The Netherlands

Bas HeijmanBas Heijman is an associate professor in drinking water engineering at the department of Water management of the faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. He is a lecturer in a number of courses concerning drinking water technology. The main course is “design of drinking water and waste water treatment plants”. A course in the last year of the masters of sanitary engineering students.  His research is about introduction of new technologies in (drinking)water treatment. Examples are: the use of ceramic membranes and zeolites in water treatment. He was involved in a number of projects concerning small scale treatment of brackish or seawater with the use of  sustainable energy. These projects were aiming at affordable desalination technologies for remote rural areas
