Dr. Dianika Lestari (Department of Chemical Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia)
Dianika Lestari was graduated from the Bachelor Program in Department of Chemical Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia, in 2004. She directly continued her master program in the same university and was graduated in 2006. In 2007, she was awarded a scholarship from SPIN-KNAW to pursue her PhD in the Department Valorisation of Plant Production Chains (now Biobased Commodity Chemicals Group) at Wageningen UR, under the supervision of Prof.(Em) Dr. Johan P.M. Sanders. The aim of her PhD research ‘Non-food applications of Jatropha proteins’ was to gain more value and benefit per hectare Jatropha curcas through protein-based biorefinery. She finished her PhD program in 2012. Since then until now, she works as a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering, ITB, and continues her research on improving the added value and benefit of local resources, especially from agricultural residues, e.g. cassava and oil palm industries, through biorefinery.
