Anas Fauzi received his Bachelor (S1) degree from Faculty of Geografi, GadjahMada University, Yogyakarta. He worked as a consultant in GIS and remote sensing. Anas received full scholarship from European Union to pursue MSc course in natural resource management at ITC, Netherlands. Again, he received full scholarship from WOTRO for doctoral research at the same institution, which is now a faculty of University of Twente. Assessing degradation in mangroves using remote sensing (hyperspectral imagery) has been his on-going research. Several image processing and empirical approach methods have been used to retrieve chemical and physical characteristic of mangroves. Parallel to his PhD research, he also teaches remote sensing and GIS at STT Sapta Taruna, Jakarta.
